Absolute Adventure Mexico
Our tour to the Chich?n Itz? ruins with Alex and Rodrigo was the highlight of our family's trip to Cancun. Alex knows his stuff and we learned so much both on the drive there and at the site. When he asked what we knew about the Mayans, my nine year old shared that he had learned that they used cacao beans as currency. Alex immediately pulled up images on his iPad and told us even more about that. At the site, Alex shared in-depth information that made the experience so wonderful. We avoided big crowds and had the time to take in this incredible place. On the way back, we had a delicious lunch and had the chance to do a little shopping. Rodrigo, the driver, got us there and back safely and made stops when we needed them. I highly recommend this tour and I'm so glad we booked with Absolute Adventure Mexico.
Ver másCompletely professional, punctual and amazing service. You could not ask for any better than Joshua and Enrique. Beyond highly recommend this company for any of their services
Ver másHad a private tour to Chichen Itza and Valladolid. Rodrigo and Joshua promptly picked up at 6 and headed out. We were among the first at Chichen Itza and the weather was perfect. Joshua gave us a nuanced and insightful history of this magnificent place. Our lunch was delicious and unhurried. Rodrigo was professional in getting us to our destinations. What made it so worth the money was leaving Chichen Itza just as all the large busses started rolling up. We would never have learned as much as we did had we taken a big bus tour.
Ver másJoshua was absolutely amazing. He gave a nuanced and insightful telling of Chichen Itza’s history. We were thrilled to be leaving as all the buses started to arrive, having spent a very intimate two hours at the site with just a small handful of others. Worth every penny! And Rodrigo our driver was an ace on the roads getting us smoothly delivered to our destinations.
Ver másChichen Itza private tour Joshua and Rodrigo were absolutely amazing. Joshua gave us a nuanced and insightful tour. He was able to retell the story of both the Mayan culture and how it resonates in today?s Yucat?n. The tour was paced well and it was great to know we could alter (lengthen or shorten) it if needed. Highly (really!) recommend this tour!
Ver másA repeat for sure! Arturo our guide and Enrique our driver were fantastic. Arturo was very helpful with our 3 person group that included 1 person who has vision problems, 1 person who doesn?t swim, and 1 person who loves adventure. He took care of all of us! He explained the options and we picked the 2 that fit our group best. He led us through the cave and explained how it evolved along with how it is connected to 250 Cenotes. Because we went early we had the two Cenotes to ourselves until just when we were ready to leave. I will use this group again and book more private tours.
Ver másOur guide, Arturo, and driver, Enrique, were fantastic! I have vision issues and Arturo was very supportive helping me navigate to and from the cenotes. He was also amazing as our guide through the closed cenote we visited. Highly recommend them if planning a visit!!!
Ver másInformative and relaxing! Alex and Rodrigo were excellent with our family. Alex gave us so much great information and history about the ruins. He made it work for all of us - both young and old. Lots of breaks and bathroom stops on the drive. We loved this trip!
Ver másWe had a great time with Joshua and Rodrigo! We loved the various tour options, went for a private tour of Tulum with Joshua and a stop at cenote of our choice from their list. They picked us up right on time, and we were back in time for a late-ish lunch as planned! The van was in pristine condition inside and out, (Rodrigo was actually detailing it even more while we swam and zip lined!) with cold drinks and great air conditioning.

Ver másGreat private tour through the Dos Ojos Cenotes. Highly recommend!
Ver másA true highlight of our trip! What a fantastic day! A big shout out to Juan. He was an excellent guide - knowledgeable, friendly and fun - and really added to our experience. Enrique drove us safely to our various destinations and had prepared everything just right, from cold drinks to snorkel equipment. Everything was just perfect! Thanks again, guys! Not a cheap (private) excursion, but definitely worth it.
Ver másGreat private tour of Chichen Itza Tripadvisor review: Chichen Itza Private Guided Tour Skip the Line Access Express Easy hotel pick-up, driver and tour guide were great. Guide speaks English well and engaged with adults and tweens on tour. Shared great knowledge about Chichen Itza, history, time for pictures, etc. Lovely lunch in nearby town. Private tour, clean van with ample seating, good AC, water and snacks.
Ver másA tour beyond all our expectations! Arturo (guide) and Rodrigo (driver) were amazing, it felt like spending the day with old friends. Arturo was a wealth of information, quickly adapting to our focus and offering details aligned with our interests. Our tour of Coba was magical, plus we saw monkeys playing in the treetops! Our cenote experience was simply breathtaking - Arturo brought us to two, and we had both completely to ourselves! The entire day was about us, our pace, our interests, and we never felt rushed or like we were asking silly questions. 10/10 would recommend!
Ver másdefinitely add this to your travel list! Amazing Experience! We had 10 ladies for this excursion and we all had such a beautiful time! Arturo was our guide and we loved him, he was so insightful, funny, and patient. We all can?t wait to come back!
Ver másThis is our favorite excursion What a perfect day we had! Arturro was our guide, and Rodrigo was our driver. The tour was perfect. Arturro was a perfect guide with so much knowledge. The time spent in each location was perfect. The lunch was excellent in a very clean restaurant. The ruins tour was not crowded as we arrived right when it opened. We practically had the cenote to ourselves. The swimming with turtles was very cool. I highly recommend this tour.
Ver másGreat Company. Great Communication. Great Staff. Great Pricing. My wife and I booked the Chichén Itzá, Cenote and lunch private tour. The best experience from start to finish. Our guide, Juan and driver, Omar were great. The best part of booking a private tour is the personalized experience, and that you get to Chichén Itzá before the crowds and you get back with time to enjoy your afternoon at your resort.
Ver másWhat an absolutely amazing experience we had with this company! We just got back from a day exploring Tulum and some cenotes with our private tour guide, Alex, and our driver Omar. They are extremely knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming individuals. The entire experience from booking this tour a month ago, to the pick-up at the ferry terminal, and the actual tour could not have been more perfect! Thank you guys so much for making our trip so memorable

Ver másA MUST do with Absolute Adventure! Joshua (guide) and Claire (owner) were AHmazing. We had the best day and Joshua is so knowledgeable and fun. Highly recommend this excursion. We had 15 in our group in Playa del Carmen renting an Air B N B and they came and picked us up early in the morning and brought us home that later afternoon. Highly recommend!
Ver másIncredible experience today with Absolute Adventures doing a 2-person private tour to Chichen Itza, Cenote (Oxman), Valladolid and a stop for restaurant lunch. Thanks to our wonderful guide, Josh, and our driver, Kike, we arrived FIRST (!!) at the gate to enter Chichen Itza and managed to get several photos with no other tourists in the background. Awesome!! They picked us up at our hotel in Playa Del Carmen at 6:15AM in the morning - and we still managed to stop for free coffee/juice/pastries and a bathroom break on the way. Thanks again to our guide Joshua who taught us a lot about the history of Chichen Itza and the surrounding area! Highly recommend - do not hesitate to book!

Ver másLoved our early private family tour of Chichen Itza! Wonderful private tour with our guide, Joshua, and driver, Enrique. From our perspective, the service and knowledge provided allows us the ease to soak in what you want to experience as they handle all logistics and expertise in subject matter. The tour was Chichen Itza and lunch/time in Valladolid. Even my older kids who hate getting up early did say it was worth getting up early so we could enter and appreciate Chichen Itza before the massive crowds. We stayed in Playa del Carmen and our pick up time was 6:15am. There was a mix-up on where to meet as our hotel (Aloft) had the main lobby upstairs and one downstairs so I was worried that our guide wasn't in the lobby (as we had taken an Absolute Adventure tour earlier in the week and that person had met us there.) It might be worth reaffirming this with the company the day before if your hotel has different lobbies. However, after this, all went smoothly and there were no issues. On the trip to Chichen Itza, we stopped for coffee and pastries. It was nice the gas station had a coffee machine that had an option for cappuccino and expresso. Our family appreciated the opportunity to access Chichen Itza earlier before all the big tours and crowds and Joshua shared interesting stories and knowledge about the Mayan culture so we could learn an incredible depth of information about Chichen Itza. From our past experiences and in our opinion, guides make the difference in your experience of a place. Joshua's enthusiasm and knowledge shone through! The most photographed structure is a Mayan calendar system. To hear it was built without metal tools and possibly with obsidian rock is fascinating. Joshua spoke in details about the different structures, and we gained an understanding about the Mayans' life and their incredible knowledge of astronomy. There were so many structures and symbols to learn about - including the ball court. There is an opportunity for your group to either continue learning more about the Mayans/Toltecs or if you would like to shop from the hundreds of vendors onsite. We chose to continue walking Chichen Itza and hearing more about the people who lived there at one point of history. I also liked being told that there are Mayans living in Mexico today. As we walked out of Chichen Itza to the parking lot, we passed many vendors with their table of wares. Often, vendors would blow on a jaguar "whistle" and the sound would always startle me a bit. I think the vendors are mostly Mayans. Joshua shared that tourism is one of the top 3 industries in Mexico (agricultural goods is another and can't remember the last one). If I was someone who collected "stuff," I probably would have taken some time to purchase something from one of those local vendors. Valladolid was interesting to see as it has a colonial Spanish feel. Lunch was very good and in lovely restaurant that seemed popular with locals - as it was not close to the main square/church. The menu offered a nice variety of options. After lunch, Enrique drove us to the main square and Joshua did share some ideas of things we could do including a Museum of Chocolate. I think if you had an idea of what you would like to do, then you could request more time. As we didn't have something in mind, we walked through the church and wandered a few streets before getting some ice-cream. Thank you, Joshua, for being our guide and sharing your knowledge in such a way that it was engaging, inviting and fun! We also want to acknowledge Enrique for his skills as as driver and managing the snacks/drinks! They were committed to our experience and contributed to all loving Chichen Itza. Absolute Adventure Mexico was easy to work with in booking the trip, timely with thorough communications (email and What's App) and exceeded our expectations!
Ver másExcellent private tour for family with older teens Fantastic private tour with our guide, Arturo, and driver, Jasper! From our perspective, the service and knowledge provided allows us the ease to soak in what you want to experience as they handle all logistics and expertise in subject matter. The tour itself: Our family appreciated the opportunity to access Tulum earlier before all the big tours and crowds and Arturo shared interesting stories and knowledge about the Mayan culture and to understand Tulum as a residential area. This was my favorite aspect of the day. I will always remember that the Mayan gods have many forms and the incredible temples and views from Tulum. Our kids are 16 and 19 and we let them pick the cenote. After hearing the descriptions, they chose Cenote Jaguar as it had a zip line. All 4 of us buckled up and went on the zip line that went over the cenote. We also all swam and jumped off the platform. Arturo swam with us and also took us to another part of the cenote and taught us more about these underwater openings. I had not realized how many cenotes there are in the region and the different ways they are being explored. Lunch was delicious at an outdoor patio not too far away. There were many options to select from and everyone enjoyed their meals. After lunch, it was time to go to Akumal and swim with the turtles. This is a national park and the park uses their own company and guides so Arturo walked in with us and made sure we met with our own guide who took us to snorkel and see the sea turtles. Be ready that due to the popularity of this opportunity, there were many others doing the same thing. I also don't snorkel often so it took a bit to get use to it. We did see at least four sea turtles and perhaps others in my family saw more. It was a treat to see a sea turtle at the surface and see their head pop up and look at us! Thank you, Arturo, for being our guide and sharing your knowledge in such a way that it was engaging, inviting and fun! We also want to acknowledge Jasper for his skills as as driver and managing the snorkeling gear and the snacks/drinks! They were committed to our experience and contributed to all loving this day of experiences. Absolute Adventure Mexico was easy to work with in booking the trip, timely with thorough communications (email and What's App) and exceeded our expectations!
Ver másVery informative and fun- Worth it to get there early! It was SO worth it to book VIP and private. We got in right as it opened so we beat all the crowds inside the ruins and the long line of cars just trying to get in the area. Seeing the ruins was an amazing experience. We went to Cenote Samula and it was beautiful and not too crowded. We stopped and had a delicious authentic Mayan dinner in Valladolid. They had a great mezcal selection as well. Arturo was very kind, informative and respectful and had a nice soothing tour guide voice. Omar was also a great driver.
Ver másArturo took us on an amazing tour from the Mayan Ruins to the cenotes. He was the best!! Very knowledgeable and loads of fun!! You won't regret it!! Thank you for showing us an amazing time Arturo!!
Ver másAs first time visitors to Mexico and wanting to explore historical sights we were unsure how to travel safely outwith our hotel in Playacar. Therefore after reading reviews decided to book the express private tour to Tulum and it sure was the right decision ! We were picked up early from our hotel prompt at time arranged by Enrique driver and Joshus guide and conveyed to Tulum in an aircon vehicle, arriving there for gates opening at 8am. Joshua is a very polite, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable guide, who explained everything about the history of the site, during the walking tour. Joshua was able to answer all.our questions during the very leisurely stroll round....nothing rushed or too much bother. The site itself is really beautiful on the coast and remains are quite splendid. On completing the tour we were given free time at the shops/market stalls, coffee shop at entrance. Again, no rush, Joshua asked when we wanted to stay until and then when we were ready Enrique appeared in the vehicle at the exit, to return us straight back to hotel door. Felt 100% safe throughout. A great trip, thoroughly recommend Absolute Adventures for any trips in the area. Thankyou
Ver másTulum & Coba Ruins with Cenote Swim fantastic! Our family of four had a wonderful Alejandro, our guide, was extremely friendly, helpful, and informative. Enrique, our driver, got us safely and quickly to all five stops and back to our resort. Claire was very responsive and helpful, promptly answering several emails prior to our tour.
Ver másGreat service and had an amazing time. The guide, Arturo, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely would use this service again.
Ver másGreat Chichen Itza Express Tour We had a great tour with Josh as our tour guide and Enrique as our driver. They picked us up promptly at our hotel and we made the 2 1/2 hour drive to Chichen Itza. Josh had our tickets ready for us and we quickly entered the park. The great thing about this tour is that it is early before all of the big tour buses get there. Josh gave us just enough information but did not overload us with details. It was a great tour and I would highly recommend this company!
Ver másAmazing experience and guide Alex was an amazing guide. He is incredibly knowledgeable and a very nice person. The whole experience was spectacular and very memorable. Arriving early very helpful.
Ver másGreat way to experience Tulum and a cenote __ We had such a good day on our private tour with Juan. Juan was extremely knowledgeable and great with our 3 and 5-year-old children. Juan and our driver picked us up from our hotel in PDC and took us to the Tulum ruins early before the crowds started and before it got too hot. He provided a lot of history and the views were incredible. Next, he took us to a cave cenote- Taak Bi Ha. We had the place to ourselves! We enjoyed snorkelling in the cenote while the kids explored the cave. Lastly, we had a mexican lunch before heading back to our hotel. There were not a lot of options at the restaurant we went to as alot was apparently not available eg chicken. The restaurant seemed annoyed we did not purchase a drink as we were happy to hydrate with our water. Lunch was nice though, and I would highly recommend the tour and Juan!
Ver másAlex was our guide and Rodrigo was our driver. Pick up time was perfect we did early pick up so we were snorkeling with sea turtles by 8:30 a.m. no crowd. Water in ocean in January was surprisingly warm. Guide at Cenote Stephen was excellent found us a ton of seas turtles, stingrays (multiple and sizes) and various fish. We than went to Cenote (Alex tour guide) and on the way he gave us so much great knowledge about the Mayan people and culture. Made trip go quickly. They took pictures of us, very plesant. We did the underground Cenote very awesome and also warm. The final part of trip was meal which was amazing and milkeshake was delicious. Overall can?t say enough good things about Alex he was fun kind and a plethora of knowledge. Thanks for making the MN tourist experience amazing.
Ver másGreat tour guide & experience! Alex & Rodrigo were a great pair for our tour! We felt safe the entire time, saw lots of sea life, and learned a lot on the way there. We were able to choose from 3 different cenotes and the Taak Bi Ha was the under ground one that we chose. It was beautiful and Alex showed us around the whole Cenote. We were able to get a delicious authentic Mexican lunch after it all and then head back to the hotel. It was a perfect half day excursion.
Ver másAmazing food, snorkeling, and cenote!! We went to the Taak Bi Ha cenote and swam with the turtles. We saw at least 10 sea turtles, many fish, and about 5 stingray. The cenote was warm and had amazing features to look at. Highly recommend this experience for any age. The authentic Mexican meal was also a 10/10. Our guides: Alex and Rodrigo were very informational and welcoming!!
Ver másDon?t miss it! Alex and Omar were fantastic! We just got back from our tour and had a wonderful experience. Going early is a must because it gets crowded when the bus tours arrive. It also gets hot so we beat the heat by going early. Alex was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He made the day fun and explained everything as we went along. We learned so much and had a great time. They picked us up at our hotel at 6am. We brought coffee and a snack for breakfast. They provided water and soda. Along the way they provided opportunities for bathroom breaks. On the way back we were able to grab lunch to go. We visited all the ruins and Alex gave us background and history at each spot. This place is magical but Alex was instrumental in helping us connect to its rich history. I recommend wearing comfortable supportive shoes. And don?t forget your sunblock!
Ver másExcellent Joshua was by far the best tour guide we have ever had. He was so informative and knew exactly how to balance fun with safety. He took us into several caves which were unprecedented experiences for my group of friends. I highly recommend this experience and HIGHLY recommend Joshua as your tour guide.
Ver másWe went on a private "express" tour of Tulum. Our guide Juan made this an excellent excursion. He was extremely knowledgeable about Tulum, and did a great job breaking down and explaining the ruins. He also knew all the best views and places to take pictures. He was very flexible and was happy to also guide us through the new(er) museum and watch tower at Tulum, even though it was not strictly on the itinerary. This tour company seems really well organized, especially compared to some other companies we went on excursions with in Mexico. All of our tickets were booked ahead of time, and we were even able to put the site bracelets on before arriving! Thanks to this organization and leaving early, we breezed through the entrance and had a great experience as one of the first groups in the site. I would highly recommend this agency to anyone looking to explore Tulum, or any other Mayan ruins in the Playa del Carmen area.
Ver másWonderful tour of Chichen Itza. Tour guide Chris was friendly and had lots of local knowledge to share. Omar was a safe and dependable driver. Also had lunch and did some shopping in Valladolid before heading back to the resort. Overall a great full day tour. Highly recommend the company and leaving early to beat the tour bus companies. Chichen Itza can have over 10k visitors a day.
