Tour guide was super knowledgable about all aspects of the tour, and took us through some impressive Mayan ruins and swam in a Cenote afterwards. Incredible experience and would recommend this 100%. Learned a lot about tequila too

Our family—three generations, ages 78, 47, 44, 12, and 9—had a wonderful experience on the Chichén Itzá + Cenote + Valladolid tour with guide Joshua and driver Omar. We opted for a private tour to accommodate the different needs of our group. There was an additional fee since we were departing from Cancún rather than Playa del Carmen, where the company is based—but it was well worth it to go with Absolute Adventure Mexico. Joshua and Omar were well prepared and excellent with our group—engaging, informative, and respectful of our pace and freedom to explore. Be sure to grab a drink from the cooler in the van before entering the Chichén Itzá site. The stops were well timed and flexible, and the driving felt very safe. At Paladar del Cura, I recommend the Cochinita Pibil (Yucatán-style barbecued pork with tacos on the side)—a delicious local specialty. We waited to order dessert until we reached Valladolid so the kids could enjoy ice cream at La Michoacana. We had a choice of two cenotes and chose Oxmán for its rope swing and jumping platforms—this was a hit with our group! Bring a waterproof phone pouch for great photos inside the cenote. Our older traveler chose not to descend the 73 steps to the water and was warmly welcomed to wait with Joshua, where he continued learning about the area's history and enjoyed photographing the cenote from above. Sunscreen isn’t allowed in the cenote to help protect it, but it’s shady inside, so you won’t need it. Everyone wears life jackets in the water. Hands down the best way to see and experience Chichen Itza. Our tour guide Arturo and our driver Rodrigo picked our group of 11 up very early. They gave us options for bathrooms and rest stops with snacks along the way. Upon arrival to Chichen Itza Arturo gave us our tickets and we were able to leave all our things in the bus as the driver stayed with our belongings the whole time. This was very helpful as it was a hot day and carrying extra things would have been a lot. Arturo was an amazing tour guide he is trained not only in archaeology but has a past of his own of being an architect so his insight he gives to the ancient ruins is unmatched. He kept us on time and in the shade as much as possible. A couple people on our group had some overheating issues and he was very accommodating. After our tour around the ruins we went to the Oxman cenote. It was absolutely stunning. There is a rope swing and a jumping platform. Arturo was kind enough to take group pictures from the top to keep our phones from getting wet. Our group was very hungry after Chichen Itza and the tour provided snacks and drinks. Arturo with his experience knew the restaurant sometimes takes awhile for large group orders so we picked our lunch before the cenote and he called it in ahead of time. By the time we arrived at the restaurant we maybe waited 10 minutes to be eating as a group. We had authentic mayan cuisine that was delicious and also part of the tour price. Outside of tipping and drinks at the restaurant the total tour price included our entrances to Chichen Itza and the cenote, lunch, transport, and all the knowledge and guidance from the tour guide. Would 10/10 recommend this company for the Chichen Itza and cenote trip. I cannot speak to the other tours, but if the communication and the service is the same I can assure you will have the BEST time and it was worth every penny!

The hubs and I used Absolute Adventure Mexico for a private tour to Chichen Itza, Cenote Samula, and for a vegetarian lunch in Valledolid. Our private tour guide, Josh, was polite, friendly, and very educated on the places we visited. Our driver, Kike, was also polite, and did well to ensure we didn’t feel car sick. All in all, excellent service! We would definitely recommend and use the company again!

Cristina and Rodri were our fearless leaders during our private Coba and cenotes tour. Through highways, ancient ruins, jungle bike rides, and 12 meter jumps into water, we felt absolutely taken care of and had the best time. Cristina is a wealth of knowledge and switched seamlessly between English and Spanish to accommodate our bilingual group. Small touches like cold soft drinks in the van and sharing lunch together at a roadside restaurant infused the experience with a welcoming warmth. This excursion was the perfect mix of history and adventure, and I would absolutely return again!

What an amazing tour! Our private van was comfy and the AC was running! (So grateful). We arrived early and it felt like we were alone to start. Our tour guide was amazing, he had so much history and knowledge and could answer any question in our heads. We learned so much and it really brought the ruins to life. I highly recommend this company and will use again.

Excellent experience touring the Tulum archaeological site with Cristina as our guide! My group of friends booked a private tour and were picked up on time from our hotel by Cristina and Omar, who drove us to the site in a comfortable minibus stoked with cold water. Cristina is a very personable and informative guide who gave us lots of insight into Maya cosmology, architecture, culture and postclassic history (as a Maya archaeologist I can vouch!) she even had an iPad to show visual aids at our stopping points! We paused for photos and she was very patient when we got distracted by the iguanas 😉 Wonderful, efficient and fun tour of the ruins, highly recommended!!!

Had a perfect day from start to finish! I would give double stars if I could! We picked two spots in Akumul swam with the turtles they gave us the option to switch because of the Sargassum/Seaweed, it didn’t bother us though so we went and had a wonderful time. We saw 4 turtles, one huge turtle a baby and 2 normal sized turtles. Then we went probably one of the prettiest unique places I’ve ever seen, at the Yalku lagoon, our guide joined us there and he was so kind and informative. We then went to lunch in Akumal and had some delicious taco’s, and nacho chips. I definitely recommend, booking with Absolute Adventures Mexico one of the best excursions I’ve ever been on.

What an incredible experience!!! We spent an entire day with our extremely knowledgeable tour guide Joshua (and our amazing driver Kike). Joshua did an incredible job of explaining and sharing his knowledge of Chichén Itzá and the Mayans. There were plenty of options on the tour itself (like touring the cool little center of Valladolid, something we weren’t expecting). We definitely felt like we were getting a real deal experience without any extra worries. We loved the tour so much we booked a second tour to visit Punta Laguna on a different day. We were guided by the amazing Alex! Again it was clear that he was very knowledgeable of the area and its culture. By the end of both tours it felt like we were hanging out with good friends as we shared a delicious meal together. Absolute Adventure is a must the next time we come, especially since they offer so much! Thank you so much Josh, Alex, and Kike!!!

This tour was one of the best we’ve done in Mexico. Having a private tours offers so many benefits especially when traveling with younger children (4 years old.) You have the ability to do more or less depending on how it’s going. They stop for restroom breaks, etc. We even wanted a specific souvenir and our tour guide, Arturo, made sure we got it. He helped guide us when we were bargaining with vendors and even took us to a Cenote that was incredibly peaceful- no crowds. Shortly after we left the crowds descended and we were so grateful to get to experience it away from everyone else. Lunch was excellent as well! Our driver was superb. We would book a tour with this company and Arturo any time and you should too.

Josh and Max were wonderful! It was a great day and the kids loved it! As a family of 5 (kids ranging from 9-13), the private tour of Tulum ruins, cenote and snorkeling was a perfect fit. Our guides were on time, very informative and helpful. The pace of the tour was flexible which was great for our family so we did not feel rushed or have to stay longer than the kids were interested. Definitely would recommend Absolute Adventure Mexico and request Joshua and Max!

Amazing tour with Cristina! Excellent value and the tour was a perfect length of time (2-3 excursion). Omar and Cristina came to pick us up promptly in the morning. Omar was a safe and smooth driver. The van was well air conditioned and they provided us with a cooler with a variety do beverages including water, soda, and juice. Cristina led us around the ruins and patiently and knowledgeably answered all of our questions. She even used an Ipad to present additional visuals to explain Mayan mythology as well as the architectural magnificence during the summer solstice and spring equinox. Highly recommend and look forward to returning to the Yucatan! I hope one day to take more tours of sites like Coba with Cristina and Omar.

Juan was so fun, knowledgeable, and even helped us in planning another upcoming trip we have to another country—and Enrique kept the van cool and everyone safe on the bumpy roads near the cenotes. The cenotes and ruins were both everything we hoped they would be and were so thankful for this experience. We’re already planning to bring our kiddos back and will absolutely request this team for our tour again!
